KO WAI MATOU? I WHO WE ARE?
(Te Riu O Waikato – the Valley of Waikato) is a collective of 15 Waikato-Tainui marae, joining together to build and strengthen the Tainui Waka.
VISION STATEMENT​

Te Riu o Waikato will serve the beneficiaries of our affiliated marae to the fullest.

To provide the base and template to help our people achieve their dreams.

To grow our business so that we in turn may help others to grow.

To ensure that our network of affiliates resonate with our kaupapa. We will also ensure that they align with our goals and the goals of the communities we serve.

As entrusted to us by Waikato-Tainui, as the mandated regional authority, Te Riu o Waikato will uphold the principles of Kiingitanga, tikanga, and katiakitanga. We will demonstrate the principles of Mana Motuhake.

Te Riu o Waikato is dedicated to creating economic, social and environmental sustainability.
Ko matakitaki iho au ki Te Riu O Waikato, ano nei hei kapo kau ake, maaku ki te kapu o taku ringa.
Ka whakamiri noa tona aratau, e tia nei he tupu pua hou.
I look down on the valley of Waikato, as though to hold it in the hollow of my hand and caress its beauty, like some tender lush green life.
